Privacy Policy

Summary

SpeakPad does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data whatsoever. SpeakPad contains:

• No analytics or tracking SDKs
• No advertising frameworks
• No crash reporting services that transmit data
• No user accounts or login
• No network requests of any kind

Data Storage

All data — including the child's name, communication boards, vocabulary items, and settings — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. No data is ever sent to our servers or any third party because we have no servers.

Backups

SpeakPad offers two backup methods:

• iCloud backup: Boards and settings can be backed up to your personal iCloud Documents container. This data is stored in your iCloud account and is not accessible to us.
• File export: You can export a .speakpad backup file and share it via AirDrop, Files, email, or any method you choose. We never see or have access to your backup files.

Text-to-Speech

SpeakPad uses Apple's built-in text-to-speech engine (AVSpeechSynthesizer), which runs entirely on-device. No speech data is sent to any server.

Children's Privacy

SpeakPad is designed for children and complies with Apple's Kids Category guidelines. We do not collect any data from children or anyone else. There are no external links, advertisements, or in-app purchases accessible to children. Caregiver settings are protected behind a parental gate.

Third-Party Services

SpeakPad uses no third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks. The app is built entirely with Apple's native frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, AVFoundation).

Symbols

SpeakPad includes the Mulberry Symbol Set, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. These symbols are bundled within the app and are not downloaded from the internet.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update this page with the new date. Given our commitment to zero data collection, we do not anticipate changes.
